TV Tuner Card and Interference
The RF spectrum present on the cable system is the rersponsibility of the Cable TV company all the way to the tuner. they don't give 2 shits if some kid just hooked up a house amp output to his rooftop antenna to see if he could get his neighbor some free signal (yes, people have tried that).

Linx "casper" chip - when will it be available?
I would like to hook up my ATI TV TUNER card in the computer, but this requires splitting the signal, which results in signal loss, not to mention added noise. I could use an amplifier on the tv-tuner signal, but not on the cable modem, because amplifiers do not pass return, which the cable modem requires.

A signal amplifier in the line might help but may just end up boosting the "noise" (works fine for me though - see below). If you have (or intend to get) digital The 2nd output from the amplifier goes to another 900MHz splitter, with the splits off that going to a vcr and my PC video card (it has a TV tuner).

Still MONO on all channels, so I decided to reinstall the ATI Multimedia Center TV Tuner 7.1 software as well and most channels are now coming in fine in STEREO. I don't know if it was the older drivers or reinstalling the TV Tuner software or a combination of both that did it but I hope it helps out those few

Yesterday, I bought a cable splitter, connected the cable feed to the In feed of the splitter, connected one of the OUTs to the cable modem, and the other OUT to my TV tuner card of my PC. Everything worked OK last night -- I had cable access, and also had all the cable TV channels on my PC.

ATI TV Tuner Signal Clarity?
